Marmer Butik — Since 2013

From Europe to the volcanic
islands of Indonesia,
all the way to your home

From Ibiza to Brazil: the story of the man who brought the beauty of Indonesia’s volcanic stone to high-end interiors.

Where it all began

A discovery that
changed everything — and transformed
homes across Brazil

In 2013, Marcos Bovo founded Marmer Butik, driven by a unique life experience. After years living between London, England, and Ibiza, Spain, where he spent long summers on the Mediterranean, Marcos came across natural stone pieces of a beauty he had never seen before.

Those hand-carved sinks, bathtubs and decorative pieces fascinated him so much that he decided to go to the source: he travelled to Indonesia to meet the artisans and see the volcanic islands where these pieces are born.

What he found there changed his life — and has since changed the interiors of homes across Brazil and, today, around the world.

Ever since, Marmer Butik has imported containers directly from Indonesia, working with local artisans who pass down, from generation to generation, the craft of carving stone by hand. Every piece is selected individually, preserving shapes that nature took millions of years to create.

When you choose a Marmer Butik sink, bathtub or decorative piece, you are acquiring something no one else in the world owns. The colour, the veining, the texture — all of it is the result of geological processes that took millions of years. Every piece is one of a kind, just like you.

From the volcanic islands of Indonesia

Unique raw materials
that nature creates
only once

01River stone

Shaped over millions of years by Indonesia’s volcanic rivers, every stone carries its own marks and tones. Dense volcanic basalt with a polished interior and a rustic, organic exterior.

02Natural travertine marble

Quarried and worked by hand on the islands of Bali and Java, with veining and patterns that nature creates only once. Available in Cream, Grey and Doreng, each with its own personality.

03Petrified wood

Wood petrified over millions of years and transformed into timeless pieces. One of the rarest materials nature has ever produced, impossible to replicate artificially.

What drives us

Our principles

01True exclusivity

No two pieces are alike. The veining, the texture, the tone — all of it is decided by nature and impossible to reproduce industrially. When you choose a Marmer Butik sink, you choose a piece that exists only once in the world.

02Authentic craftsmanship

Every piece is hand-carved by artisans in Bali and Java, using techniques passed down through generations. No molds, no mass production. The handmade process is what gives each piece its soul.

03Personal advice

Our service is a consultation, not a sale. We understand your project, suggest the right piece and guide you on installation and care. Clients who arrive with questions leave with certainty — and come back for more.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know

How did Marmer Butik begin?

Marmer Butik was founded in 2013 by Marcos Bovo, after years living between London and Ibiza. Captivated by hand-carved natural stone pieces, Marcos travelled to Indonesia to meet the artisans and see the volcanic islands where these pieces are born. What he found there changed his life, and has since transformed interiors in Brazil and around the world.

Where do Marmer Butik products come from?

Most of our handmade pieces are imported directly from the volcanic islands of Indonesia: Bali and Java. River stone sinks and bathtubs are carved from volcanic basalt; marble pieces from natural travertine marble. We also work with petrified wood. Every piece is selected individually.

Are the pieces in stock?

Yes. Every piece in our store is physically in our showroom in Londrina, Brazil. You receive the exact piece pictured: it is crated and collected by FedEx within 3 to 7 business days.

Do you work with architects, designers and hotels?

Yes. Since 2013 we have advised architects, interior designers, hotels and homeowners on which pieces suit each project. For multi-piece or container orders, visit our wholesale page or message us on WhatsApp at +55 43 99869-4037.

Do stone sinks need maintenance?

Care is simple. For daily cleaning, use water or a neutral soap with a soft cloth. For travertine marble, apply a dedicated stone sealer every 6 months. River stone sinks, carved from basalt, are naturally denser and need less frequent care.

How long does delivery take?

Preparation takes 3 to 7 business days after payment is confirmed. FedEx then delivers to your door within a few days, depending on the destination. Import duties and taxes are already included in the price, so there is nothing to pay on delivery.
